Viva Motorsports- 3 Drivers: 1 Goal

Sadly Viva Motorsports Ceased Operations before i could post this article! I wrote this in May so please enjoy and Remember Viva Motorsports!

In 2015, Viva Motorsports would continue entering the #55 Chevrolet Camaro in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Not any different from last year with the exception of not just Jamie Dick as a driver. This season Viva added Jeffery Earnhardt and Rookie Brandon Gdovic. FW1 Wash and Wax, Viva Auto Group, and WindStax will be primary sponsors in 2015.
Jamie Dick, team owner of Viva Motorsports, returns for his fifth season driving in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Over five years Jamie has raced 58 times with no top-5’s or top-10’s. Jamie made his first start in the #55 this season was at Las Vegas where he started 26th and gained 3 positions through the race to finish in the 24th place, at Phoenix, he qualified in the 28th position and crossed the finish line in the 28th place, but it was after the race that the action picked up. Jamie was transported to a local hospital for non-racing related issues where he’d later be diagnosed with a new onset diabetes. He hasn’t since raced again but vows he will return behind the wheel.

Jeffery Earnhardt, grandson of the late Dale Earnhardt Sr. would depart from J.D. Motorsports and land in the #55 car for a partial schedule. Jeffery would return in 2015 for his 6th season in NASCAR Xfinity Series competition. He’s had neither top-10’s nor top-5’s. His best finish is 18th in 2014. Jeffery made his Viva Motorsports debut in Daytona where he qualified the #55 in the 13th position. After all of the mayhem Daytona brought this year he finished in the 16th position. The following weekend Jeffery and Viva Motorsports had a disappointing finish of 32nd in Atlanta. California brought about the same as Atlanta, a 28th place finish. Then 2 weeks of good luck for Jeffery, a 15th in Thunder Valley and then in Talladega Jeffery got his season best finish of 12th. I think Jeffery could land the 55 car in Victory Lane at Daytona in July if not sooner.

Brandon Gdovic, whose father owns Precision Performance Motorsports in the NASCAR K&N Series where Brandon really got his start, made his first start in the Xfinity Series at Texas. Brandon finished 26th in his debut which for a rookie is very impressive. At Richmond Brandon finished he finished 30th. I personally am not very familiar with Brandon but I’m sure we will hear of him in the future.

Viva Motorsports could seriously be a winning team if they would field another car, kind of like HScott Motorsports in the cup series. I feel that if you stick with two cars then you can help each other out. Viva really has potential and I feel with the driver lineup they have currently if Jamie Dick would take the ownership role, Jeffery drives the 55 and Brandon drives the 05 then one of those cars could get to victory lane.
