Casey Mears finished 20th in Sunday's Crown Royal Presents The Jeff Kyle 400 but that was just one of the finishes Casey has had in the top 20 this season. Casey has had a very impressive season even cracking the top 16 on the points grid this season.
Casey started the season very well with a 6th place finish at Daytona. Michigan was also a Top 10 finish. Otherwise Casey has been consistently in the top 15 to top 20 with only 4 finishes outside the top 20 (Bristol, Richmond, Talladega, and Sonoma. I think this team should make the chase if the consistency stays and other teams ahead of him have bad performances or just Casey to out race drivers like Aric Almirola and Kyle Larson, both who have been very good this season. I think Casey could be the underfunded team and driver who could represent in the chase and if he could make it to Talladega we could possibly get a top 8 in points!
